PoperazziIn this show, Poperazzi is Pop-Opera yet so much more. Unlike many of the operatic tenor groups such as The Three Tenors and Il Divo who present great operatic and pop music sung like opera singers, Poperazzi brings high-energy, exciting credibility to all styles of music. These dynamic vocalists dive into lush Italian Opera sung with the trained, disciplined, technical prowess that it demands. Then they explode into Louis Prima and The Jersey Boys: Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons singing, dancing, swinging and rocking with vocal stylistic credibility. Real Opera, real Pop, real Swing sung the way audiences want to hear it.
In creating Poperazzi, the trio strived to bring three young, attractive, and musically diverse performers together. Tenor George DeMott is the operatically trained Italian tenor, like a young Mario Lanza. Soprano Janien Valentine is the wonderfully versatile female vocalist; a sexy Pop and R&B goddess comfortable in the classical world as well with the looks of a young Sophia Loren. Finally, tenor Cody Shawn Gay is the guitar playing Rock and Roll Broadway singer with swagger and classic Scandinavian good looks. These young singers appreciate looking good onstage and dress to reflect that in a cool and classy manner. Especially Janien who graces the performances with as many different costume changes as vocal styles in the show!
